Mike Eidson Law Student Scholarship

The 2024 application cycle has closed.

Each year, the Women Trial Lawyers Caucus awards a $5,000 scholarship to a female student entering her third year of law school (the student can be enrolled in a three-year day program or four-year night program) who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a trial lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.  Additionally, the winner receives a registration and travel stipend to attend the AAJ Annual Convention.

Application Process

To apply, you must be an AAJ Law Student member (join here), be enrolled in an ABA-approved law school, and submit a complete application package outlined below.

To submit your application, you will complete an online form and upload the following documents:

  • Resume
  • Letter explaining your interest in a career as a trial lawyer, your dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and how you have demonstrated this
  • Law student verification form [PDF]

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Please note, the recipient of this scholarship must attend AAJ's Annual Convention to accept the award. Convention registration and a travel stipend are included with the scholarship.
