Antiterrorism

The Antiterrorism Litigation Group assists AAJ members litigating civil claims arising from acts of domestic and international terrorism on behalf of victims of terrorist attacks and their families. The group educates members about current U.S. laws used by victims of terror to bring their attackers to justice and to hold those who support terrorists accountable for their complicit conduct, including the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA), the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), the Justice Against State Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), and the Justice for United States Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism (USVSST). Group members also discuss civil claims arising from common law and state law tort claims such as assault, battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful death.

Group History

The Antiterrorism Litigation Group was formed in 2020. Members will have access to a Document Library and list server. The group meets at the AAJ annual and winter conventions and hosts education programs and meetings throughout the year.

Dues:

The Litigation Group is complementary to members of the AAJ International Practice Section who can agree to the terms and conditions of membership in the Litigation Group's Affidavit. If you are not yet a member, you can join the International Practice Section here.
