Sexual Assault

In the United States, only a small percentage of sexual assault cases will result in criminal prosecution. The AAJ Sexual Assault Litigation Group assists members litigating assault and harassment cases in civil court. The Group educates members on civil remedies that are available for sexual assault victims, theories of liability that are successful in these types of cases, how to identify viable defendants, and how to value the physical and emotional damages in these types of cases. The Litigation Group will also serve as a resource to educate our members about new case law as it develops.

The Sexual Assault Litigation Group provides a forum for lawyers litigating cases to share knowledge, strategies, and educational resources. The Litigation Group has a secure, members-only list server and document library where members can share pertinent information and documents regarding the litigation. This Litigation Group holds regular meetings to discuss current cases and important updates.

• Membership: The group is limited to AAJ Regular, Life, Sustaining, and President’s Club members only.
• Meetings: AAJ Annual and Winter Conventions, or as needed by group members.
• Dues: $150 per member
