Wrongful death
December 2024/January 2025From 1953 to 1992, Billy Joe McClary was a career insulator for various companies in the San Francisco Bay area, including Owens-Corning Fiberglass. He developed asbestosis and pleural disease, which led to his death.
His daughter sued undisclosed defendants, alleging wrongful death.
The case resolved after pretrial motions for more than $4.5 million.

Suit against multiple defendants resolved before jury selection for more than $1 million. In Timm v. Henkel US Operating Corp., Undisclosed Dkt. No. (Cal. Super. Ct. San Francisco Cnty. Aug. 2024), suit filed on behalf of a former naval and auto mechanic who died of mesothelioma settled for $1.5 million. Mr. Purcell also represented the plaintiffs in these cases.
