Defective fuel system design
October/November 2024Doe’s vehicle was rear-ended at high speed. The impact caused the fuel tank to ignite, resulting in a catastrophic fire. Emergency responders were unable to extract Doe from the vehicle, and he died. He is survived by his family.
Doe’s family claimed that an undisclosed vehicle manufacturer was liable for the defective design and manufacture of the vehicle’s fuel system. The fuel system had inherent safety flaws, and the defendant prioritized convenience over safety, the family claimed.
The parties settled for a confidential amount.
