Negligent security at drug treatment center

November 14, 2024

Doe was admitted to Roe drug and alcohol addiction treatment center at a reported cost of approximately $4,000 per day. While there, he allegedly overdosed on fentanyl in his room. Doe is survived by his parents.

Suit against the treatment center alleged negligent security at the facility. The plaintiff alleged there was a distressing pattern of negligence at the defendant’s facility, including inoperable surveillance cameras, alarms without chimes, and a lack of standards to ensure the facility’s perimeter was controlled.

The parties reached a confidential settlement.
